In a defining moment for mental health advocacy in South Africa, actor Hungani Ndlovu attended #ThaBhuti, a powerful men’s mental health event hosted by media personality Thando Thabethe. The gathering brought together men from various walks of life to speak openly about vulnerability, healing, and redefining masculinity.

Coming shortly after the announcement of his divorce from Stephanie Ndlovu, Hungani’s presence and words carried undeniable emotional weight.

💬 “An Evening Where Men Showed Up As Themselves

Hungani took to Instagram following the event, sharing a heartfelt message that captured the spirit of the evening:

“An evening where men showed up as themselves open, real, and honest. 🙌🏾

We talked about the hard stuff. About hurt, healing, and figuring life out.

About not having all the answers, and that being okay.

This is what true masculinity looks like.

And this is how we move forward, together. ✨

Congratulations to @thando_thabethe and the team at @thabootys for #ThaBhuti and @sorbet_man_hyde_park for having us 🙏🏾💛”

🧠 #ThaBhuti: A Space for Vulnerability

#ThaBhuti is an initiative by Thando Thabethe and Thabooty’s, aimed at breaking the stigma around men’s mental health. The event, hosted in collaboration with Sorbet Man Hyde Park, created a space where men could gather, reflect, and speak freely without judgment or pressure to “man up.”

Thabethe, a long-time advocate for mental wellness and self-worth, described the evening as “a safe space for men to feel seen.”

“Our men are hurting too. They deserve space, healing, and support,” she said.

💔 Hungani’s Story: Pain in the Public Eye

Just days before the event, Hungani and Stephanie Ndlovu confirmed their separation after six years of marriage. In earlier interviews, Hungani spoke about the emotional toll the couple faced from the pain of a miscarriage to the weight of trying to hold everything together in silence.

Rather than retreating from the public eye, he chose to show up at #ThaBhuti  an act many are calling both courageous and necessary.
