Viral Livestream Sparks Drug Speculation

In the first and most recent clip, Shebeshxt is seen walking off camera during what appears to be a casual livestream. After he steps away, a pipe resembling those commonly used to smoke crystal meth becomes briefly visible on the couch. A friend sitting next to him quickly notices it, reaches over, and hides the object all while the camera is still rolling.

The clip spread fast on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, and YouTube, with many users speculating about whether this was an accidental reveal of drug use. Some viewers pointed to the rapper's past erratic behavior and wondered if this might be part of a bigger issue.

 “So y’all think he was high during the car accident?” one comment read.

“Explains the violent outbursts meth is like that,” another user wrote.

Others came to his defense, suggesting the footage is old or taken out of context. One fan claimed,

“This video is from early 2024, people are just trying to drag him again.”

Shortly after the video went viral, another older livestream clip resurfaced this time appearing to show Shebeshxt dancing before walking off screen. In the background, a friend seemingly unaware that they’re still live hands over a similar glass pipe. Shebeshxt reacts by throwing something toward him, possibly as a signal to stop. Another friend rushes to block the camera, clearly frustrated.

This second video has strengthened public suspicion, with many now questioning whether these moments point to a pattern of substance use rather than isolated incidents.

Adding to the speculation is Shebeshxt’s past time in custody. In 2023, the artist was denied bail on multiple charges and spent several months in a correctional facility. Though the charges were not drug-related, it’s no secret that meth also known locally as tik is increasingly present in South African prisons.

A 2024 report from the Department of Correctional Services confirmed the seizure of over 900 kg of drugs from facilities nationwide, including methamphetamine. Multiple studies and firsthand accounts describe meth use as widespread inside some prisons, often smuggled in and distributed by gangs.
