At the 2025 Met Gala, Tyla once again proved her status as a rising fashion icon, delivering a red carpet moment that seamlessly blended historical reverence with contemporary style. The event’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” offered a rich framework for creative expression, and Tyla rose to the occasion in a custom Jacquemus creation that honored the legacy of Black fashion trailblazers.
Styled by the renowned Law Roach, Tyla’s gown reimagined the classic pinstripe shirt as a sophisticated, off-the-shoulder, body-hugging dress. The look was elevated by a dramatic, floor-length cape that nodded to the grandeur of old Hollywood and the signature aesthetic of late fashion icon André Leon Talley. The ensemble paid tribute not only to timeless tailoring but also to a lineage of elegance within the Black fashion canon.

Tyla’s platinum blonde pixie cut and glowy, vintage-inspired makeup drew inspiration from Hollywood legends Dorothy Dandridge and Josephine Baker. The entire look radiated poise and a deep appreciation for heritage, while still asserting her unique modern voice in the world of style.
In the days leading up to the gala, Tyla offered a preview of her fashion sensibility through a series of standout pre-event outfits. She wore a bold minidress by Tolu Coker and later stepped out in a vintage Roberto Cavalli look, both of which embraced the gala’s tailoring-focused theme while showing off her evolving red carpet persona.
