The 2025 BET Awards are set to air live on Monday, June 9, at 8 p.m. ET/PT from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and South African music is front and center in this year’s lineup.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the prestigious awards show, and South Africa’s presence is stronger than ever. Rising stars Maglera Doe Boy, Dlala Thukzin, and the amapiano duo TXC have been nominated in the highly competitive “Best New International Act” category. Maglera Doe Boy, celebrated for his lyrical depth and genre-blending style, continues to build on the momentum of his 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards nomination.
