Gogo Skhotheni Accused of Fraud Over R50,000 'Wealth Charm'

R50,000 Gone and No wealth in Sight Public Questions Gogo Skhotheni's Intentions

Controversial sangoma-turned-Christian preacher Gogo Skhotheni is once again making headlines this time over serious fraud allegations involving a traditional charm allegedly worth R50,000.

Despite her recent public shift from ancestral practices to Christianity, it seems Skhotheni’s past dealings are far from buried. A disgruntled client has come forward, claiming they paid R50,000 for Isigubhu Semali a traditional charm said to bring wealth but received nothing in return.

The demand for a full refund was spotlighted by notorious blogger Musa Khawula, who shared the complaint on 24 May 2025.

“A customer demands a refund of R50,000 from Gogo Skhotheni,” the post reads. “This comes after the desperate customer ordered and paid for Isigubhu Semali, and Gogo Skhotheni has failed to honour her end of the deal now refusing to refund the customer.”

Social media quickly erupted, with users divided. Some questioned the legitimacy of the charm itself, while others slammed the customer’s decision to hand over such a hefty sum. But the harshest criticism was aimed at Skhotheni, with many accusing her of exploiting the desperate and vulnerable despite her apparent spiritual transformation.

As the backlash grows, questions swirl: is Gogo Skhotheni a reformed preacher, or a spiritual hustler in disguise?
