One of the three Free State police officers who mysteriously vanished en route to Limpopo has been confirmed dead, her grieving father told Sowetan this week.
Boipelo Senoge, 24, was among a trio of officers who went missing while traveling to Limpopo last week. Her father, Paul Senoge, shared the heartbreaking news in a short message sent to a Sowetan reporter on Tuesday afternoon. It read simply: "Hey my sister, my daughter is no more."
The terse message marked a tragic end to days of desperate hope and anxious searching by the Senoge family, who had feared something was wrong when they received no confirmation that the officers had arrived safely at their destination.
Speaking to Sowetan on Monday, Paul Senoge described the torment of waiting in uncertainty. “We started calling hospitals and police stations to find out if there had been an accident,” he said. “It’s been incredibly difficult for our family. I can’t sleep, and it’s hard to eat.”
Boipelo’s disappearance along with her two colleagues had sparked concern within the community and the South African Police Service. Details surrounding her death remain unclear, and the whereabouts or condition of the other two officers have not yet been officially confirmed by authorities.
As the investigation continues, the Senoge family is left grappling with a devastating loss. Boipelo, remembered as dedicated and full of promise, had served her community with distinction.
Messages of support and condolences have begun pouring in for the family as South Africans react to the unfolding tragedy. Meanwhile, questions remain unanswered and the nation waits
